SHINTRUN TAIWANESE OPERA TROUPE
The story is based on the classic Chinese literature. Wang Bao-chung, daughter of prime minister, beautiful and brilliant, married to Shi Ping-gui, poor but gentle and brave. While her father disapproved of the marriage, the new couple started the marriage life in a poor and cold cave. After winning a great triumph in the army, Ping-gui was unexpectedly sent to the far west land of Si-liang, due to the jealousy from his colleague. Ping-gui was then assigned to married to the princess of Si-liang for the reason of peace.
For 18 years, with her strong will, Bao-chung lived alone waiting for the return of her husband in the cave. It was when she was to commit suicide for her desperation and hopelessness, the shocking news came of the survival of Ping-gui. Bao-chung bit her fingers and sent the letter of her suffering and sorrow in these years with her blood. As receiving the letter of blood, Ping-gui, returned to her wife immediately and the couple finally get happily together.
The most traditional Taiwanese opera troupe, Shintrun Taiwanese Opera Troupe, organized by Liao Chiung-chih, is famous for the graceful movement and elegant voice, been progressing the development and preservation of traditional Taiwanese Opera. The troupe focuses on the extremely highly professional training, having been dedicated to performances and art educational events. The troupe has been highly appreciated in the traditional performing arts in Taiwan, gaining continuously positive reputation.
